A rectangular tray in black lacquer with chinoiserie-influenced decoration, its border worked in a fine geometric key pattern picked out in silver against the black ground. Cut handles at each short end with a lacquered surface and a worn patina.

It's a substantial size for a tray, generous enough to anchor a drinks trolley or a stack of books, and beautifully made beneath the wear.
