"This was the first piece I made in wood. It emerged from my deep desire to explore, and from a curiosity about how working in three dimensions might influence my two-dimensional practice.

The process gave me a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and for the intelligence embedded in traditional woodworking techniques

The chair was made together with KFK Master Cabinetmakers in Stockholm. Working with solid wood introduced a new set of challenges and possibilities. Because the piece is constructed entirely from solid walnut, the joinery and construction needed to be highly precise in order to maintain its shape over time. Walnut was chosen not only for its warmth and character, but also for its stability and resistance to warping and shrinking compared to many other hardwoods"
