A sculptural table lamp in figured mahogany, its ovoid form turned from a single substantial piece and finished with a fine ringed detail at the base. The wood's ribbon-like figure is typical of French Art Deco furniture, prized for the chatoyant effect it gives when polished. Fine natural cracks run through the surface, the kind that can emerge as a solid piece this size is worked on the lathe. The lamp has weight and is solid with a brass stem that is adjustable for height.

Paired here with a cone shade in ivory sateen and rewired throughout.
