Kazuhide Takahama was born in Japan in 1930. He studied Architecture in Tokyo and worked at Kazuo Fuioka’s studio. In 1957, he met Dino Gavina at the Triennale in Milan, Italy and they started to collaborate. Takahama became famous for his clean lines and formal restraint designing lighting and furniture for Knoll, Gavina and B&B Italia. The Tulu chair was a symbol of his avant-garde experimentation.
