Deco Box Pierre Amédée Plasait

A exquisite Art Deco brass box representing the refined artistry of Pierre Amédée Plasait (b.1910), son of the French gold and silversmith Amédée Auguste Plasait.  A rounded low lens-shaped form crafted in hammered brass with a striking pair of intertwined cast bronze mountain goats crowning the lid. A fine example of early deco craftwork.

French, brass, circa 1930s. Stamped 'P.Plasait. Orfèvre'. Lightly patinated brass with some scratching internally.
