A wide horizontal landscape panel, painted in ink and mineral pigment on silk with a silver leaf reverse, depicting flowering plum trees across a mountainous river scene. The composition has the loose, atmospheric quality typical of Japanese landscape painting of the period, with pigment built up in soft washes against passages of fine, calligraphic line.

Dated approximately 1850, the panel is held in a later lacquered frame with wood edges.
