Teddy Sempinski Tile No.2

A handmade tile by the Swedish artist, Teddy Sempinski (1927-1998)

A Polish Swedish painter, illustrator and graphic artist. Tadeusz-Marya Sempinski aka Teddy Sempinski came to Sweden in 1947 and studied at Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm in 1950. Many of Teddy Sempinski's commissioned public pieces were collages of tiles worked in cement and chamotte ceramics. Hundreds of handmade and glazed tiles placed together to create abstract artworks on facades of public buildings.  

His work is also represented in the Moderna Museet collection in Stockholm.
