A wonderful model study in terracotta by Bengt Amundin (1915-2011). Possibly an early sketch for Amundin's 'Dafnes Förvandling' 1962. A 5m high abstract sculpture standing in Hägernäs, Stockholm.
A trained sculptor, Amundin studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm (1938 - 1944) where he discovered abstraction and the importance of balance, rhythm and movement to his work. Amundin went on to create many public pieces around Sweden in bronze, stone and plastic.
