A beautifully aged antique, two piece Kashigata mould traditionally used to make confectionary such as Higashi/small sweet cakes for tea ceremonies or shrine offerings. The matsu or pine frond design has been skill-fully hand carved in wood and is one of a kind. A fading craft, Kashigata is a 300 year old tradition making these moulds small works of art.
Two brass hooks have been added making it possible to hang on the wall.
