Original tubular chrome Tulu chairs designed by Kazuide Takahama for Simon Gavina, Cassina in 1968.

This stackable chair has a light, tubular frame made in bent chrome.  It has beautiful, clean lines typical of Takahama's designs during the late 60s and 70s. New upholstery in a buttery grained calf leather.  Made in Italy to the original removable design with strapping underneath.

Kazuhide Takahama was born in Japan in 1930.  He studied Architecture in Tokyo and worked at Kazuo Fuioka’s studio. In 1957, he met Dino Gavina at the Triennale in Milan, Italy and they started to collaborate.  Takahama became famous for his clean lines and formal restraint designing lighting and furniture for Knoll, Gavina and B&B Italia. The Tulu chair was a symbol of his avant-garde experimentation.

Near perfect condition with some small marks on chrome.

Italian, 1960s, Chrome, Calf Leather.

Available as a set of 4 or 6.
